Last Friday was one of those days. My back was excruciating, my neck was stiff and sore and it was one of the most stressful days I've had at work for a long time. Needless to say by the time I got home I was drained mentally and physically. When it came time to take my meds I looked at the bottle and thought "a couple extra and this day wont be so bad anymore". So I took double my normal dose and a 1/2 hour later I felt better than I've felt in a very long time. The pain was gone, the stress was gone...I think you folks know what I mean.
Now I know it was monumentally stupid and behavior like that leads to trouble but that was the first time I've overdone it to that extent. (no lectures please)
My question is this..how many of you out there on occasion take extra meds just to feel really good? How many actually do chase that buzz from time to time?
Wondering,

Oceans, unfortunately, for me, in order to rid myself of the pain completely and sometimes, even just to temper it a bit, I have to take enough of my pills to get that 'buzz' you're referring to. I suppose that's why I have a love/hate relationship with it. If I want to feel no pain, I have to lose my lucidity, which, I don't like- especially if I have to lose it often. So, I don't take the pills to chase that buzz- rather, I'm forced to endure that buzz to chase that 'pain-free' state. I wish I did enjoy it more- then it wouldn't bother me so much to have to take the pills so often
