Canadian Customs

Hello all,
I'll be staying up in the Vancouver area for the next couple months and was wandering what the climate is like up north regarding the importation of prescription meds. Are customs up there very sharp, or are they more apt to let smaller packages through ? It seems as if US Customs have really stepped up the heat lately so I just wanted some feedback from you guys...
