Sorry- no, the Doc. doesn't just hand them out in his office, lol, but I guess unless you use the same insurance company I do, you prolly wouldn't know what I'm talking about. Sorry for the confusion What I meant was, because I'm through an HMO who happens to have their pharmacies (I go through their pharmacies as well) inside of their clinics and hospitals- my HMO doesn't offer oxycontin- merely methadone. That's what I meant- wasn't sure if you had the same sort of set-up or not. The pharm. is separate, but it is within the same building as the Drs. offices- that's all. Oh, they also manufacture their own product (generics) so maybe that makes more sense?
Weird that your doc would offer only one to you and not the other. From what I've heard, methadone is more difficult to try and get over than oxy- but I haven't tried either- so again, just speculation- wouldn't take it to the bank
