Contrary to popular belief, taking Temgesic 4-6 hours after your last hydro dose will not put you into WD's. However, if you take Suboxone or Subutex, which is much, much stronger than a 0.2 Temgesic, then yes, you will run into problems. If you plan on taking hydro again tomorrow, make sure you have 8-10 hours or so since your last Temgesic. It has a long half life (I read somewhere that it is approx 37.5 hours, but I believe that is for the stronger ones such as Suboxone) and once it builds up in your system it will hold you for quite some time and it does have a bit of a blocking effect against opiates. Everyone has their own opinions on what Buprenorphine does in conjunction with opiates, but I know for a fact that the only one you have to be very careful with is the Dr. prescribed Suboxone/Subutex. One good rule of thumb to remember with Temgesic or any Buprenorphine product is that "less is more". You don't have to take alot to get the effect you need, and don't keep popping them if you don't feel anything within 30 min or so. It takes 60-90 minutes for it to get into your system and start working. Temgesic is a great way to hold you in between refills, if needed and it works well if you feel that you need to take a short break from your meds. Just listen to your body and with any drug, be careful!

Yes, I believe this is at least partially right.
Also...you do have to make sure to disolve them SLOWLY under your tongue. If you bite chew or swallow them you will get no affect.

I did a lot of reading and temgesic and other opiates CAN be used with it and will not put you into w/d. I read teh pamplet that came with teh temgesic, over and over as well. It specifies that one does not have to be out of your system to take the other.
There is ONE warning on it(the temgesic package info) that states in a heavy opiate user it may precipitate w/d. I have taken a temgesic and taken a hydro an hour later and been fine. I have taken 40 mg of hydro within a few hours of taking temgesic and NOT had adverse reactions or w/d.

Also, according the the Sahmsa (if those are the correct letters): The Suboxone does not actually block other opiates, but has a block that bloxks itself from being reduced to liquid form to be injected, causing w/d.

To me this buprenorphine is a mysterious drug.
I have found a happy medium for myself.
Which is to take 2-4 temgesic (sublingually and one at a time) wait for 1 to 1.5 hours. If I still feel withdrawal I will take 1.5 hydros (10/325's). After that I will be good for 6 or 7 hours with little or no w/d, not even bad fatigue.

Now this is after trial and error. The first two trials, I got very, very sick and had horrid w/d. Worse than cold turkey. This very well may have been from not taking enough buprenorphine.

I albsolutely believe that it does build up in your system somehow, as I can take an itial dose of say .8 mg (4 pills) over an hour, and be w/d w/d for 12 hours. Then I may need to add 1 to 2 more to keep w/d at bay.
AND it seems to work better forme if I do not let myself get into full w/d before using it.

Again...this is just me and it took some nasty fallls before I find my grounding with this drug.

Good Luck!
