Yes, there are some very low dose(8mg codeine,15mg caffeine,300mg tylenol)OTC products available legally in Canada. However, with a neck injury you would have to take quite a lot(too much acetaminophen!!)for any real pain relief. I also had (and continue to have pain) from a neck injury caused by a car accident. I was prescribed tylenol #3 and flexeril for several months, however I had to do intense physio for several months as well. If I had refused or discontinued the physio, the Dr. I had at the time would have also probably told me to "just take an Advil". I still have on and off severe neck discomfort and migraines but I am fortunate in the fact that I now have a Dr. willing to prescibe 30 Demerol per month. Now the demerol in pill form is not that great, you have to take quite a few for pain relief but I'm afraid to complain about it to my Dr. as I would probably be taken off the dem's and put on something competely useless(for me)like toradol. It's very hard to find a good Dr. in Canada that is willing to prescribe any kind of narcotic pain med, especially triple script meds. Thank goodness I found this board!!! I was ordering Darvon compound products that really helped from AccessMeds, but who knows when or if A.M. will re-open. I have also found that fiorinol from HealthyLifeMeds to be very helpful. It's expensive when converted to Canadian dollars and HLM's packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but I've ordered from them several times and have always recieved my orders in anywhere from 17 to 30 days without a hitch. Hope that helps some. Please feel free to pm me anytime if you need any help!! The folks here at DB have been a great help to me.
