HI Daisy,
I don't live in VT - but I am just a couple of states away from you on the East Coast. I can tell by this (and reading your other) posts that you are nervous about this. I was really nervous the first time I had a consult too. In fact, I got so freaked out the first time I actually hung up on the doctor when he called. Then realized what I did and called him back real quick saying "I'm sorry I dropped the phone!". I was utterly CONVINCED that a police car was going to pull into my driveway along with the UPS truck the next day. Obviously, it didn't happen.
If you read thru the posts here you will not be able to find even ONE about anyone being busted from using a US OP. Though I'm sure that we could start a huge debate on the ethics of it, it doesn't negate the fact that as of right now, it is LEGAL to be prescribed medication in this manner. Honestly, there are people working to regulate this area of medicine, and many that would like to see it outlawed completely, but any legislation is a long time down the road. You don't have to worry about that police car showing up. You are getting a valid prescription filled from a licensed pharmacist that was written by a licensed doctor. I recommend staying away from any site that does not require records and a consult simply because they seem to be shuting down (or getting shut down) daily. NWW requires both the records and the consult.
Don't let your friends comments scare you (I read that in another of your posts), you are not doing anything illegal. I'm sure that if you mention to your PCP that you are utilizing telemedicine for pain management he/she would completely freak out so think about that before telling him/her. You wouldn't be here at all if they were properly managing your pain!
You can pm me if you want to. I completely understand your concerns. Good luck!
