For sleep problems, Trazedone is the first thing the docs try to foist off on you - same sleep-aid effect as an antihistamine, with the added beauty of intense nightmares. I wish the docs would try this stuff before Rxing it.

IMHO the best sleep aid is a moderate term benzo, like 2 mg Clonazepam (Klonopin/Rivotril) potentiated with 30-100 mg of dextromethorphan. Main issue is whether or not the DXM has permanent destructive effects with chronic use at this level? Plus side is that you don't seem to build a tolerance to benzos with this combination.
