Geez I just lost my reply to this post and have to do it over.

Provigal is not related to amphetimines. It is not addictive and has very few side effects. One Dr told me it was almost as safe as water. The US military now offers it to pilots flying long missions, in addition to the amphetimines they have been using for decades. Some of the pilots say they prefer Provigal over the amphetimines because Provigal dosen't make them "edgy". I heard that one or more of the European nations' militaries have stockpiled it for use by their troops. It's just short of getting "wonder drug" status from the medical community. Of course, the same thing happend with lithium, valuim, prozac, etc.

It is expensive. 60 200mg would cost me around $400 if I didn't have insurance. I have been using it for about 2 years. I was nodding off at work, at dinner, etc from the effects of daily doses of Oxycontin, Dilaudid and Duragesic.

To me, it is not a mood altering drug in any way. I mostly know that it works, when I don't take it and notice how wiped out I am. I can go to sleep after taking it also, which is another of the top benefits.

I do seem to have more bouts of heartburn when I take it, but I can't say for sure that the Provigal is the cause.

I would recomend anyone to try it to treat problems staying awake during the day. It won't take the place of sleep and hasn't reduced the mental retardation that large dosages of opiates over a long period of time seems to be occuring to me, but it probably will help keep you awake and perhaps a little more alert. Of course not every medication works on everyone the same way, so a trial run with a Dr is the only way to tell if it will work for you. Hope this helped.
