In 1998, my pain Doctor switched me from hydro 10's 4 times daily and replaced it with Ultram. I live in a state where a minute minority of addicts made publicity about "hillbilly heroin" !! CP suffers, along with any Doctor that prescribed it legit, suddenly found themselves being labled addicts and crooked! All doctors, whatever their discipline, became under such intense scrunity, that you have to be terminal before they feel okay about giving it. Needless to say, this scrunity trickled down to all schedule meds. My pain Doctor had his license revoked in 1998 for being liberal with meds for CP"ers that had real pain and needed treatment. The med board got someone to con the doc, they said records on others were incomplete, etc.I went 2 years and never heard the word oxycontin by anyone in the place. The med board was kind enough to allow ultram for 2 months and I took my first dose at 1 pm, woke in an EMS vehicle and being treated for injuries I recieved when I fell as I had the first seizure of my life. The second seizure occurred 2 months later and I was 46 years old and never had that problem. I quit ultram and the seizures never returned. The common thing that both Hydro and Ultram had with me, I took Zoloft along with them. I believe the Ultram/zoloft combination triggered the 2 seizures. Be very careful if taking SSi's as I was driving alone when I had the 2nd seizure.I ran off the road and crashed into some small trees/bushes and wasn't injured. I was very lucky that night as I could have involved other people in accident with serious injuries. I stated above it hadn't happened in 46 years of life and hasn't repeated as soon as I stopped the zoloft. I only wish I had been on this board before that happened. Soc
