Absolutely, positively Yes Yes Yes. They look at the different hormone types and if you are a man, you sure don't want to use female urine because pregnancy and menopause will show up instantly.

By the way, I took a drug test for the first time about 3 years ago for a major US company and I knew I had absolutely nothing to worry about as far an any illegal substances being in my body and took all of my meds that I was using with me to the test so that I could be upfront with the drugtester (I was using zoloft at the time). 3 months prior to the drug test I had extensive surgery for a detached retina and didn't even take the pain meds that were prescribed cause I didn't need them, but had to take antibiotics and special drops that I still must use 3 times a day.
I was hired at this company and 3 weeks later was called into the bossman's office, only to be informed that I had tested positive for steroids and was being fired! I tried to explain that I had taken all of my drugs to the testing and no one was interested in what I was taking, there was no place on the form I had to fill out asking of any meds taken etc, that I had precriptions for everything I take and I'm just a tiny little thing (120 pounds) and it's real obvious I'm not a body builder using illegal steroids

I had no idea, but it is the eyedrops that I use which contain a small amount of steroids, that caused me to fail the test. I even had the bottle with me in my purse with the script, but it just didn't matter. Bossman said I had to get medical records from the doctor, a statement from the pharmacist (this is a small town with only 4 pharmacies)
and would be suspended from work until I got the necessary paperwork

Maybe I've opened a can of worms here but if companies are going to insist on drug testing their employees, there should be better standards set and more information given to their potential employees.
The bossman and everyone that I had worked with knew about my eye problem, because I put it on my job application, but he just kept telling me it was a "corporate" thing, that I was a great employee and he really wanted me to get this thing straightened out cause he didn't want to lose me

This whole thing made me feel like a common criminal and was really embarrassing. And to make matters worse, there were some employees who would go out in back of the building at break time and smoke "hippie lettuce", everyone knew it and nothing was ever done about drug testing those people.

I just don't get it
