Yep. Been there. Same thing too - had a bad head cold and could not sleep at night because my nose was so stuffed up. Used a generic over the counter inhaler and wondered why my nose was constantly stuffed up a month after the cold symptoms have passed. Doing a little research on the internet I found out that it is highly addictive which it does say on the bottle (but who reads that right?). Fortunately, I found a simple solution that worked. First, I just used the spray on the left nostril - just enough so I could breath at night. I did this for about a week on just the left nostril. And I just used a tiny bit - just enough to clear me up. Slowly, the right nostril began to clear in about a week. Then I just quit using it. The left nostril was all clogged for a little less than a week and than all better!
I never would have believed that you could become physically dependant so quick on NOSE SPRAY but believe me, you can!! It happened to me...
