BadKnees. to get back to your original question, what can you do about it; You can't do anything unless you have some cash to throw at a lawyer. That might give you some peace of mind, but that's probably about all. I can't tell you how much effort I have wasted worrying about legal (and other) matters. Hey, if you can't fix it, forget it. 98% of the stuff I worry about never happens, and if it does, my worrying didn't do anything to help. If the law wants to give you some grief, deal with it then. If you have nothing to hide, cooperate. If you don't like the way things are going, tell them you don't want to answer any questions nor submit to a search (only if they ask first). Don't let them pull the old trick of, "If you are innocent, you have nothing to hide. The fact that you do not want to cooperate is, in itself, probable cause." BS in the extreme! If innocent people don't stand on their rights, then no one will have rights. Tell them that. Be calm, be polite, and be adamant. You'd be suprised at how quickly a cop can back down if he knows you will not be pushed around. I'm not blowing smoke, either. I've done it and it works. If they talk about going easy on you if you cooperate, tell them that sounds pretty good, but you'll need to run it by your lawyer first.
It doesn't sound to me like they are interested in prossecuting you, anyway.
