I went to the County HRS with every single document they ask for yesterday morning. The food card was of eminent importance and I did leave with one but it cannot be activated unly 4 July.
I stated breaking down explaining to him that I was applying for SSI and part of my problem is that my insurance is insfficent. Though I'm eligible to keep it for another six months I will have to pay 600 dollasrs (from where) plus some on-the-spot copays that cannot be avoided (pscyh, therapist, dack doctor, meds) He got on the ball getting me an evalutation for MEDICAID right away. I don't know exacly what this covers, but I know it's a heckofalot better than Medicare and certainly better than a student health insurance plan. I mean, by Jeeves, coverage for GLASSES? (I'm legally blind without them)
IHe made appointments for mental and physical assessment and I think he is starting the push for SSI as well.
So it's the food pantry for the rest of the month but at least I can look forward to something other than pasta next month.
Let's see: blind, flat-footed, extremely comprimised due to psychiatric illness, despite years of treatment, little prognosis of improvement in my back problems despite 4 rounds of PT. . . It would keep me out of the army, but will it get me 500 dollars a month?
