This is an interesting topic considering that one member here suspected that he was fired because someone told his boss that he was using the internet to "get drugs".
Anyway, I tell my wife that I use OP's to get legitimate prescriptions. I also order some other stuff from IOP's to suppliment. This, I am less than open about, even though she knows what kind of pain I am in without the meds, she's worried about side affects and would freak out if she knew that I was receiving meds in a way that less than 100% legal. I do a lot of ebay and other buying and selling, so it isn't unusual for me to get a registered package from Europe or a padded envelope from God knows where.
Plus, she knows that I have a very high pain tolerance and if I say I am in pain, she know that I AM REALLY IN PAIN. Also, my back pain makes me very grouchy and hard to live with. Not to mention that "Honey Do's" are so out of the question that she is liable to get her head bit off if she asks me to do anything.
She does have some issues with the expense, but she knows what it would cost her if I didn't take them.
Also, I have 1 friend, who's back is a million times worse than mine, that knows that I get pain meds and we share back and forth.
That's it. I freaked out because a prescription came when my parents were visiting for a week and my dad signed for it while I was at work. Luckily, my wife snatched it up and said that she better put this up for me to open when I get home. They would probably freak out about it.
These days, with how the "drug warriors" are, you can't trust much of anyone with this or they'll turn you in just for revenge over petty matters, or some terribly misguided "civic duty", or to get themselves out of trouble.
