That is a sore spot with me. I took care of my mom for 11 month prior to her death. When things started to get bad it was so hard to get meds for her. She died of copd(lung disease) When she would ask for something they would say to rate your pain. I asked once how could you possible know how she feels. Well these helpful doctors were worried aobut her becomeing an addict. The woman was dying and they wanted to withhold meds from her because of that. The couple times she was hospitalized she could only have what they would precribe and only every 4 hours, because a peice of paper said that x-amount of this certain drug is SUPPOSE to work not caring whether it did or not. well I would have to bring in extra's from home and hide them for her. It was horrible, and it was horrible to feel like someone was judging you and your need for medicine, sorry for rambling but like I said it is a sore spot with me when it comes to certain people passing judgement on how another person might feel or handle things. I suppose because this guys son was an addict and died(it is an awful thing) but no one has a right to have pain releif because of this. Rant over!
