Flaming/Flame Wars
Flaming is reacting to someone's board posting or PM in a hostile manner by publicly chastising the person or bombarding the person with nasty posts or PM's. Flaming may occur to users that engage in behavior that violates what is considered proper board netiquette. A flame war occurs when two or more users flame each other in an escalating manner that threatens to continue unabated. If you notice a flame war developing just notify the moderator or adminitrator and let them handle it. Do not take part in flame wars. If you do you will be banned even if you did not start it :-)

I don't want to repeat myself to you or others, but some won't see my reply to this on the VIP board (duh, this is the free board). I'm just going to copy it over here.

This really burns me up. One thing bothers me about this article besides the obvious concern about investigations into OPs.

It's the fact that the widow and authorities think he was not responsible for his own actions. I'm not saying he deserved to die. Heavens NO! But, if he ordered from OPs that was HIS choice. If he got meds from his PCP, that was his choice. I'm assuming he was DD, but it does not state that in the article. Still, even if he was DD, HE'S the one that ordered the meds, no one twisted him arm. I suppose they are going to try to investigate or sue whatever liquid he used to swallow the meds, if the meds are the cause of death. I mean, why not? If it was due to meds, and he drank a Coke to swallow them, then well, Coca-Cola is also responsible since it contributed. (note the sarcasm).

If indeed he did have some sort of reaction to the meds, that too, was HIS doing (unless a fluke thing but it's still not the OP's fault). He very well could've gone doctor shopping and acheived the same result of ordering lots of codeine from overseas.

It just really ticks me off when people (in this case the widow and authorities) refuse to let the husband accept personal responsibility for his own actions. This is assuming death was due to the meds.

In today's society, it seems like others are becoming more and more responsible for people who abuse/overdue, etc *whatever* it is, be it alcohol or drugs. For example, bartenders are responsible for those they serve alcohol to. People should know when to stop, but they don't. They get messed up and their judgement is impaired and then it's all up to the bartender to know if they're OK to drive home or not.

She may just be hurt and upset and lashing out to anyone and anything she can, but it's still no excuse.
