Thanks for posting! This is an excellent, easy-to-read article and so true.
It breaks my heart to know some older people have to choose between their meds and food. There is an alternative as this article points out.
I understand one life-saving med costs billions to develop, but why keep milking us forever? If other countries can cap the cost, why should we keep paying top dollar until the patent runs out (and then still keep paying when the med is generic or OTC)?
Everyone all over the world should be entitled to proven, cost-effective medicine; and, of course, the drug companies are entitled to recoup their costs plus a profit. But there just has to be a happy medium somewhere IMO.
