We pay good money to these OP's and then go on to pay a good chunk of change for the meds, and then for the meds to be substandard or trash, this shouldn't be allowed. I would hope or wish that United could at least make things right by allowing you to send them back and then send you replacement meds, but as you already know, the OP biz is not like dealing with your regular insurance provider and Eckerd pharmacy. I would imagine like the others have said that once you transfer your script, there is then even more scrutiny and focus on the OP pharmacy by the powers that be, that's why OP/Pharm. like to work within their own confines (OP only has certain pharmacies they deal with). Also, I'm not sure the doctor would be supportive of this move. I really believe that once you transfer, then United would most likely not allow you to fill a script there again, but I have no firsthand knowledge of this, only from what I've been told by respected members of the board, and I do believe that. There could be other alternatives in a situation such as this -- call the doctor that you consulted with directly and let him know of the situation. That you received medication that is not working, that you know exactly how you react to the medication that was prescribed because you've been taking it for some time and you cannot tolerate the side effects of this particular batch. Are you supposed to throw away $200+ of your money for meds that not only don't work, but make you ill as well? Perhaps he could then contact pharmacy and get to the bottom of the problem, and if not, I would say to consult with another doctor that uses a different pharmacy next time. Our choices, unfortunately, are limited. I wish I could be of more help to you. -------------------- Post Extras
