Scott that is bad idea for the following reasons. It draws undo attention on the Dr that wrote the prescription and the original pharmacy that filled the prescription. Most importantly it draws attention to you on a local level. Many states will not allow a transfer of out of state narcotic prescriptions. The OP will probably refuse to do further business with you, you might ask how will they know? Easy they have to call the pharmacy that the prescription originated from and they will in turn notify the doctor that wrote the script. Also you are throwing a double wammy by using your insurance, some HMO's will not pay for prescriptions that originate from a doctor out of their network. Many insurance companies use their databases to spot potential abuse of narcotic prescriptions. The OP system is a closed system that borders on the fringe of legality. Best to just accept the fact that you pay more but at least you get what you need to remain pain free.
