Re: Kentucky BR 1133

I live in the Eastern part of the state of KY right in the middle of where this is going on, in fact the Sheriff Webb that is quoted in the paper is the sheriff in a county that borders mine and uses the same fedex driver that we do. I just wanted to comment and clairfy a few things.

1. UPS and Fedex drivers are complaining, but its mostly about the hassel to process all these extra money orders. (not that their for drugs or whatever) The average UPS or Fedex guy does not care what you order, or how much you order, or how many orders to get a month. They just wanna get their job done and go home to their family like everybody else.

Most of them are only going to help the cops if they have a warrant to see their records. The money order increase is takes up a lot of their time and can make their day a couple of hours longer having to deal with that and thats the problem.

How do I know this. Well we own a small business and ship a lot of orders in and out with Fedex. I have gotten to know my driver and am friendly with him. We discussed this the other day and he went out to his truck and showed me a cabinet the other day full of money order envelops. And he said that was one day. There were probably 25 -30 of them in there although it was the first of the month, so I am sure that's the busiest time. The first of the month in KY is when most of the SSI and welfare recipents get their checks.

Fedex has even had to put another driver in the area because of the money orders. I met him too and he said the same thing.

I get my online meds from a place that takes credit cards and I would suggestif your in KY you do the same. Cause there is no need to cause our nice Fedex and UPS man additional aggervation of a money order. (yes, I know its their job) But there's no need to give them any reason to notice that you seem to get a lot of COD envelopes from Florida.

However, I would not worry about getting arrested for ordering these unless you are really a drug dealer, or some other kind of criminal and the cops are already on to you and just looking for a good reason to bust you, or an excuse to get a search warrant to get in your house because of some kind of criminal activity.

Even If they put the national guard on it they would still not have enough law enforcemnt people to invesigate all the people ordering from these NROPS. Were are talking 1,000's of packages a month just here in Eastern KY.

One of my friend's wife is a pharmacist, and she even get's her phentermine (diet pills) off an NROP. Why? Because she does not have time to go to the DR. here and wait 2 hrs so the DR can check her blood pressure and write the script. (and its cheaper)

In KY sheriff's are elected. Guess who some the Eastern KY county Sheriffs biggest donors usually are?

That's right: Doctors and Medical Clinics. Because they don't wanna have any investigations or Cases being put on them at the local level so Keep the sheriff happy, and hopefully he will cut you some slack, and come to you first if there are any bad "rumors" in the community about your practice.

Now these DR's, medical people are complaining loudly to the Sheriff that their business is getting hurt by these NROPs and ROPs. So what's the Sheriff gonna do? Make himself look good to his donors and consitutents and get his name in the paper by going after these terrible Internet Drug Dealers. Who harass these poor ole UPS drivers who can't even get their job done.

The guy in KY who is pushing these bill through the KY House. Greg Stumb is a DR from Eastern KY himself. And his family is known to be very corrput and money hungry in this part of the state. He does not want any of his Dr. friends in this part of the state to lose any money.

If this Bill passes here is really what will happen. All these Pain Pills addicts Here in Eastern KY. (many of whom got hurt in the coal mines, and they can get enough pills from the Local Dr. for their pain)

These folks will have to come up with more money to buy their drugs on the street level. Since getting their Hydro 10/500 on their net was costing them about $2.50 a pill, and the street price here is $10 a pill, they will have to come up with more money from somewhere.

Now other crimes will go up like theft. Children will no doubt go hungry as their parents will spend more of a limited budget on their drugs. Violent crimes and domestic abuse will also go up (one spouse takes another spouses money for drugs, one spouse is any a bad mood and beats the other one up due to hydro withdrawl, etc) And people get crazy when they can't find Hydro on the street and have to go through these withdrawls.

Meth and Coke abuse will also go up as the people who can't get Hydro will turn to these more expensive alternative drugs to get what they need.

This law will end up doing more harm than good in the long run.

Furthermore, I say what people do in their house behind closed doors is their business. As long as they are not hurting their family or other people I think they should be able to order reasonable amounts of pain pills or any other pills for personal use if they want. If they wanna ruin their liver for nothing that's their business, not the state of KY's.
The state does not seem to care if people ruin their lungs from smoking tobacco, or their body from drinking liquor everyday for 20 years.

90% of the people getting these drugs are either legit pain patients or recreational users. Not the drug dealers. If anything this is hurting their business too. As all their customer base has gone to the net for their fix.

Sorry so long. I just had to vent a little.
