No pain med is going to work when you've been up for hours in a row and taking more meds to relax is a sure-fire way to get addicted. The human brain and body were never meant to tolerate (or rely) on those kind of meds. For relaxing try soaking in a hot tub and using hypnotherapy techniques (yes, they do help) and letting your brain do its job.
