My son is 9 recently had to take him to the same day clinic. Ear infection and strept throat, they did a swab. My wife and I have been through a few ear infectons. His pead doc since birth found by some trial and error that Augmenton really works for him. Never more than one script. He even wrote in his chart this was the drug of choice. Every time we see a different doctor, witch is not uncommon kids symptoms come on so fast. They refuse to prescribe it. So this Sunday morning I get a 25 year old doc.I tell her we prefer Augmenton. She blows me off and says Zithromax is newer better and stonger. I politely ask her to go to the computer and check Dr/////// recomondations. She says I have already read that, he is an older DR. Zithromax is what you get. I protest again and she hands me the script and says there are other clinics.My son gets better but never looses his green runny nose. Back to the regular Doc, he still has an ear infection. One script of Augmenton he is fine.If this is the future of our health care we are all *&%^%ed.
