I'm sorry if I'm grossing out some of you but i was wondering if any of you have had experience with rectal use of benzodiazepines. I know the colon is a place of rapid absorption. Do you need a specific form of the med to do it this way? I'm not an injector so that route is not for me. Any comments appreciated.
It really depends on the benzo. For example, Valium is not water soluble.
Are you just going to push the tablets up there and hope that they'll dissolve? The pH of your colon is much higher than the pH of your stomach so tablets might not dissolve the same way. I guess you could get the benzo in an injectable form and "squirt" it up there like an enema but then anything that leaks out is wasted.
What's wrong with taking them as directed? You don't need to swallow. Just let it melt in your mouth, not in your [censored]. Or ... just skip the GI tract completely. Sounds like you'll be ending up there sooner or later.
