I think its fair to say most of the posts are from people based in the USA, and thats why I cannot find this drug in the BNF, UK. Having said that there's a pain med called Co-Proxamol here in the UK and im fairly sure its the same drug, Co-Proxamol contains 32.5mg Dextropropoxyphene combined with Paracetamol 325mg. This med is very widely prescibed for moderate pains of all types, and its a presciption only drug. It is not in the CD "Controoled Drug" cateeogory but is twice as stong as OTC products like Nurofen PLUS, etc which contain 12.8mg codeine per tablet combined with Ibuprofen, or Paracetamol. Co-Proxamol is widely abused ! in the UK, combined with other products to create euphoria. Sounds like Darvocet is very similar but it comes in different strenghs ? eg 30, 50 , any comments...
