UPS (and all delivery services AFAIK) attempt delivery 3 times. I'd call UPS and give them your tracking number to see where its at.
You can also go to www.ups.com and do the same. I find this easier and once you have a tracking number you can monitor the package's movement with it.
In your case, it will also tell you which UPS hub it is at and what the current status is (now many delivery attempts, etc.).
The only thing you can't do online with a tracking number alone is to have the package held at the hub. You can only do this by phone unless you have an "info-notice number" (the number at the bottom of the little yellow stickers), then you can do it online.
Having the package held can be a usefull tool if you aren't home when UPS delivers. Once you ask for it to be held at the hub it will be held for 5 business days and you can pick it up anytime during the hours of the hub (they vary but are usually at least until 7:00pm). As long as the hub isn't miles away I have found this a good option and have used it several times, especially if you work during the day when UPS usually delivers and/or you are receiving a COD delivery, which means you or someone needs to be there when UPS arrives and you can't authorize a "signature release" and have the package left with your neighbor or something (not that I would want to that with meds anyway).
