Did you tell her you didn't have the time/money for physical therapy, and she still turned you down? Since you had the gut feeling your Dr. was going to label you a "seeker" you were probably right! I would ask for med. records and go with an OP. I have asked the good people here for advise on obtaining/submitting records and they not only encourage it but say that it's not the extensive process I think it may be.
Once you have your records you can establish a relationship with one of the OP's that are given high praise like YOD. Look through the pharmacy list and the ratings given. That's what I'm in the process of doing. I'm looking forward to relaxing and not being "on the hunt" for NROP's!!!! PLUS the diffence in price of med's can be worth the time. Good luck!!!
