Sorry, that was kinda of blunt, I am a little biased. It really doesn't have any calming effect though. And it does not work on muscle tension because that is what I was taking it for. If you want something for that you should try Soma-that is the best for muscle tension and for a calming effect. But really if you are used to hydro and try to go to ultracet you will be setting yourself up for problems. PM if you want to talk more about it.
