I've been on the patch for three years now and am on the 50 mg. patch. It takes about eight hours for it to kick in but it keeps the comfort level constant instead of up and down like the pills. You always start with the lowest dose because older patients especially can get down right goofy on the patch. If you wee going to do any experimenting--which I'm not recommending--but did it myself, put two patches on to see if that works better. But remind yourself"are you looking for a buzz or for the comfort it brings. If I want a buzz, I can add patches but then I will run out before the end of the month and that means pain. This is a CLASS 11 so absolutely no early refills.
