I was taking up to 80mg methadone when My physician finally said "enough" a few weeks ago. I started using it in "98 at 30mg a day. This was great for three years, then I went back to work and had to increase dose to 50mg. A year or so later, 60-70mg..etc.
I'm now on 200 mg oxycontin a day (100 in a.m./100p.m) with little relief. Oxycodone 5mg tabs, even 30mg doses, have not helped with breakthru pain with oxycontin.
I am sure many will highly suspect abuse here. But I and God know better.
I am now on the internet doing search after search on "tolerance" and ways of dealing with it. I plan to take my new info to my pain doc this week and hope that he will change his mind concerning his opinion that there really is nothing more to do exept trying a spinal stimulator. I FINALLY tried an epidural a few weeks ago just to appease him. I've been putting it off since I first started seeing him in '98 because of the horrible experience I had with radiofrequency denervation procedure at UCLA. This was done after two other spinal surgeries where a shunt was placed and bone packed into my sacral bone. I REALLY had nerve damage and pain after the RadioF Denerv. procedure!! My pain doc says they are RARELY done anymore due to major damage in most cases. I am one of those cases.
so, YES, please share ANYTHING!!!!
Thanks again!
Lisa
