I totally understand your fear about seeing your Dr. because of perception. But rather than going in and asking for meds, go in and tell him where you hurt, how often, how long it's been going on, how bad it hurts, etc. And then ask- no, TELL him sternly you want an MRI and an EMG and x-rays. Chiro's will tell you one thing, but they don't do an MRI and as such, don't see what is on one. I had various chiro's telling me I had muscle problems in my lower back for years and then it was "subluxation" which is all neat nstuf, but when I got my MRI done by the Ortho surgeon, it was as if somebody was finally acknowleding this wasn't in my head- I had documentation to PROVE I had real problems that sit-ups weren't going to fix
Sometimes just knowing gives you peace of mind you wouldn't otherwise get.
