i am so sorry that you two had to go through this. having dental problems affects not only the teeth but the whole psyche and causes any number of other problems. unfortunately, even with dental insurance, there is really no cheap procedure. when i had dental insurance i was still surprised how much a simple root canal set me back! after i got the thing drilled it was a looooong time before i could afford to get it capped! fortunately, for me, that was all i needed. i cannot even imagine what kind of hell it would be to go through what both of you have described! i am so sorry. have you tried western dental? oops, i don't know if that is just a california based organization or not. i just know that they take emergencies and offer a payment plan. might not be the best, but it's got to be better than that dental school nightmare you just went through! you are in my prayers.
