I just couldnt see a company using 20% less of a drug in a pill just because the law allows it. for the vast majority of drugs, that wouldnt be worth it because it would save a penny a pill. they might as well use the full amount and gain a good reputation, since the amount of drug in the pill is only a fraction of the production cost. why do you think extra strenth pills are usually only a little more money to buy than regular strenth. its not the drug in the pill thats valuable. cheap chemicals.
so how is it that you get what you pay for? yea you pay for a brand name who has a lot of advertising costs to cover because they constantly advertise and brainwash with brand name recognition
so, i doubt it happens much, but what if a generic of Drug X has 45 mg in the pill and the Brand Name has 52 mg? Brand name costs double lets say. still it doesnt have nearly double the medicine, you might as well get 60 pills of the 45mg ones instead of 30 of the 52mg ones and you get a lot more.
One day i may take a drug from to seperate brands and notice a difference, but so far thats never happened to me, ever
