I also agree with the poster that said blood tests are a joke with prescripton drugs. They could be in your system for a long period of time.

I think that DUI was created as a 'catch all' type of law and aimed as far as the drug part at plainly illegal drugs or people that don't have a valid perscription.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think it would be hard to prosecute if a cop searched you and found a bottle of hydro and suspected you might be 'loaded'.

You can be arrested for just about anything but the prosecutor has to make a case or they have to let you go.

One thing I have not seen in this thread is using the treat of harrasment against LE. I have filed a few complaints aganist police with their interal affairs department when the cop is an Best if kept off the board. Probably does no good but if you have any grounds for filing a complaint and the cop or cops are out of line, you should file with IA. While one complaint will not do anyhting unless it is a major screwup like with the Rodney King case. If a cop gets enough complaints from different people, the department will see a pattern that this cop needs to be looked at and possibly fired. I know that cops' actions are a major reason the major city I live near is sued all the time.

I respect GOOD cops that are not out to bully people and try and protect people. But I sometimes think they are in the minority.
