Try tramadol, suppose to work on the same receptors in your brain as codeine. Some swear its the best thing for pain, others complain tylenol is better. I find it definately stronger than any OTC pain reliever, but 100mg tramadol maybe only as effective as 30 mg codeine ( 1 tylenol #3), and not quite as good as 5 mg hydo. Have read that in certain studies they have learned that differant peoples stomach enzymes effect how much of it is absorbed, hence its differant effects on people, also it claimed that it was more efficient in women. The good thing is its real easy and inexpensive to obtain. Good luck!
