I don't post on the free board at all. I do all my posting on the VIP board, so don't take my description as Stranger to mean anything.

I don't know if the story this person is telling is the truth. I think is is possible.

My husband is now a target of a federal investigation for OP prescribing. He never prescribed pain meds, anti-anxiety meds, sleeping pills, etc. He prescribed diet pills (Schedule IV), Viagra, Propecia, etc. He always refused OPs that wanted him to prescribe the other drugs mentioned above. It was in his medical opinion, he was not comfortable prescribing those medications online.

Three months ago, 13 DEA agents and one local police officer, showed up at our door with a search warrant. I was at Bible Study, but my husband and our children were at home. They wouldn't let my husband or my children get up from our kitchen table. They wouldn't even let him call his attorney for 45 minutes, then the attorney was not allowed in our house. My husband was allowed to go outside and talk to him.

These DEA agents searched our home for 3 hours. They went through every drawer in our house. Most were left with clothing hanging out. They confiscated four computers and all my husband's files. They had an order immediately suspending his medical and DEA license. They said he was "a danger to the public". What a joke.

That has been over three months ago. They still have not filed charges against him. He can't petition to get his medical license back, because anything he says to the board could be used against him in a possible criminal trial.

Months ago when I posted this on the VIP board, I got tons of responses like "hummmm....", "this is fake", "how could he be in trouble for prescribing diet pills, they aren't even controlled substances" etc.

I quickly informed all of these "supportive" people that the diet pills are Schedule IV. As I began to post to my defense, people started believing me. Not only that, I have met so many good friends on the VIP side, I wouldn't have survived this long without their encouragement.

This was devastating to us. We have no income. We've had to pay over $200,000 to lawyers, and no formal indictment/charges have come down. There is a Virginia case going on right now that will determine the future of a lot of OPs. The thing that benefited us was that we found out beforehand what happened to these doctors being prosecuted right now.

When an indictment came down, they froze all of the doctors' assets. They didn't even have enough money to buy a lunch. They, the DEA and Federal Prosecutors, charged them with drug trafficking and money laundrying. I thought, "well it doesn't apply to us because of the money laundrying". Wrong. They can and do use money laundrying for almost anything.

So they intimidate these doctors' who now have no money for a good defense lawyer, and tell them if they plead guilty, they may get a plea bargain for only 5 years in prison. Because of the minimum mandatory sentencing laws for drug trafficking and money laundrying, they are looking at 20 years in prison if they lose their case. Therfore, several doctors have agreed to plea bargain. The sentencing has not been set for them yet. The 3 other doctors that would not plead guilty are using Public Defender - who also happen to work for the federal government. One doctor is defending himself; he also has a law degree.

My husband consulted with two different health care attorneys before becoming involved with OPs who both told him this was not illegal. Both have written statements on my husband's behalf, and if it goes to trial, they will tesify to that effect.

In the meantime, we are in this just wait and see what the Prosecutor will do mode. Waiting to see if he'll try to get an indictment. Our attorney says we have a very good case. That is all well and good, but we have no income, we've paid over $200,000 to attorneys - we had to pay them before our assets become frozen, and had our lives devastated.

THE POINT I'M TRYING TO MAKE IS: Some of you think that because these US OPs require ID and medical records, that somehow makes them legitimate. Let me tell you the government's stance. The government maintains that ANY prescription obtained without a "face-to-face doctor/patient" relationship is illegal.

That means that unless you obtained your prescription from a doctor that you have physically seen, then mail that prescription in to a pharmacy like CVS.com or Walgreens.com, etc, it is illegal.

I don't know if they can win this argument in Court. We will have to wait and see. I personally don't think that the DEA/FDA/Federal Prosecutors that have never been to medical school, have a right to determine what an appropriate doctor patient relationship is. Unfortuntately, the government doesn't give a rat's a#s what my opinion is.

My question is what about the doctors that cover for their collegues that go on vacation? They call in prescriptions for the vacationing doctor's patients that they have personally never seen. Why is that legal, and this is not? That is one of the arguments that we will use.

Again, I don't have any idea whether the original post was true. I just wanted to clue you in on these so-called "legit OPs". I have used a US OP. I'm now tapering from that medication. I feel that I better do it now on my own, than having to quit cold turkey when these OPs are shut down. It is only a matter of time.
