I signed it and so did all of my family members. My mother-in-law has been in pain for her whole life. She has scoliosis(sp?) Not just one curve but two. Her spine looks like an S. She has been through 2 spinal fusions and too many other surgeries to count. She, for now has a wonderful pain doc at the Pain Clinic at WFBaptist Med. Hospital; but he tells her that if things don't change he won't be able to prescribe her all the meds she needs just to cope. I think it is terrible that when she gets her meds filled - one of which is roxycodone, that the pharmacy looks at her as if she is a junkie!!! In fact, there is only one pharmacy in our county that will even carry it and they will only accept prescriptions that are written from the pain clinic. And they have an armed security guard there all the time. I know there are real "junkies" out there making it hard for people in pain. That combined with ignorrant or whimpy politicians makes it hard for her to get the meds she needs just to get out of bed in the morning. She told me the other day that she feels she should take her x-rays with her to show them all the rods and screws in her back - just so they would stop treating her like Best if kept off the board! (sorry if that is an unacceptable term - wanted to use stronger word). That made me want to go with her to just tell them all off!! But what good would that do? NONE! So, thanks to all on the boards that support people in her case. And may God bless all of you that are in pain. I pray for you to have atleast one day that is completely pain free!! Wouldn't that be an amazing day???
