Hey Kimbell,

It may not actually be bone, but part of a tooth that was pulled, or part of a fractured tooth.
I had 3 wisdom teeth, and two cracked molars (eating too much ice and drinking too much soda) pulled in August of 2002. It was the most painful thing I have ever been through, and it took a good 8-10 weeks for my gums to really heal up.
At one point I went back (also a dental school, MUSC, and they told me all was fine, I was still healing.
