Codeine relieves my pain and while at first increasing my anxiety, eventually lowers it a little, but it leaves me feeling very despondent and worst of all, so distanced from everyone around me. Far from any sort of lovey dovey feelings, or any urge to connect. Quite the opposite. I feel impelled to break it off with my boyfriend because I'm convinced there's an unbridgeable distance between us. But I know it's the codeine, and I hate that feeling.
Won't be taking it unless my back pain gets really bad, and hopefully while I'm alone.
Also, it effects my co-ordination even though I'm not taking much and it's time released. Also makes my mind fuzzy. I'll take the benzo memory side-effects over codeine's side effects any day.
