For the topic, I've only tried 2mg Upjohn and Geneva, and I can't tell the difference.
You can search on http://www.fda.gov/cder/ob/default.htm for known differences between generics and Brand name drugs, but the bottom line is that for SOME generics, there is SOME difference for SOME people.
It typically relates to both the metabolism of the individual, and the filling used in the pill. Some people have different forms of liver enzymes that cause the drug to break down at different speeds, and some drugs require rapid metabolization to reach peak effect. So people with "statistically uncommon" flavors of say P450-2D6 in their liver might find that their generics are not as effective (or even more effective) than the brand name drug.
Remember though that it can go both ways - generics could theoretically be *better* for some people than the brand names.
