While I think he was forced into breaking the law because of his circumstances, he did know he was breaking the law, and I'm not sure what defense he really has against jail. I do think his sentence was incredibly harsh though, and I don't understand the 'drug trafficking' part. I think he should get off with a fine and 30 days in county, that's it. In an ideal world, no one would have to do this.
