In essence double dipping (DD) means getting the same med from two different sources at the same time. (ie: within the same month.) Some of us DD now and then, while others do it regularly because the way the law is written we cannot get enough meds (of whatever kind) to last a whole month. Depending on how you DD it can be either a state felony or a federal one (if you use pharmacies in two different states.) Or is it a misdemenor?? I'm sure one of our legal experts can give you some idea on wether it is a felony or just a misdemenor as well as any of the penalties....but I can't think of anyone I know who hasn't DD-ed for some med at some time. (Miscalculation on refill dates, taking an extra pill over what we are prescribed leaving us short at the end of the month, tolerance issues etc etc.) Real life doctors often prescribe x number of pills/day, and then only give you a 30 count and expect it to last a month. Don't they teach simple math in school here anymore??
So long as you are not using the same pharmacy or pharmacy affiliate to DD, it can be kinda hard to be caught, unless you are being really silly about it. (Like ordering Hydro from 5 different places on the same day.) Most LE wants the supply end of the deal and see us (the demand end of the equation) as small potatoes. Oh, they might have a go a arresting one of us now and then and "Make an example of us." but it hasn't slowed the online pharmacy business one bit. Even the no record places are creeping back in again after the almost total shut down last November and the recent CC issues. (US based OPs are mostly up and running again, with CC, while some IOPs are still not up and running yet. They will in time, this is too lucative an industry not to be in if you are a no records pharmacy or an IOP.)
All this War on Prescription Drugs is doing is forcing it more and more underground. So long as there is a demand, there will always be someone around to supply. It's just a matter of finding the reliable ones.
