Another self-helper...that's great. I've read a lot of self-help books as well. A lot of things are mind over matter and a lot of people do have control over their own happiness.
Yes, I deal with pain and other medical issues, but I have learned that you must live in the "moment" as you suggested, and not dwell on things. At least not too long, because it's only human to have concerns and worries. But in general, I think I'm a pretty well-balanced person, considering many factors.
It could take one a little time, getting used to changing their thought patterns, but it can be done, nevertheless.
That should be the motto around here, "Just live in the moment."
