Thanks for all of your input everyone! You're all wonderful! But guess what??? I have an update for you!
I got right on the computer this morning and started looking for PCP's. Had I looked under Internal Medicine to begin with, I would have discovered my old doctor was under my plan! I called his office immediately, knowing full-well that the office wasn't even open, but hoping their hours would be announced so I could get right on the horn with them at the strike of the hour.
Well, his assistant gets the voice mail messages directly at her home and she called me right back because she remembered me and wanted to know how I was doing. I told her about my big saga and she said to come right in today and I will get my referrals. Oh, the joy! If my body would let me, I'd be doing a happy dance right now, but I am on the inside, I guarantee you that much!
The only hitch is that now that I've already seen the other doctor, my new/old doctor won't be in effect until March 1st. That means I have to pay more than my co-pay, but it will be well worth it. He also has no problems with payments and since I've been an established patient, it won't cost nearly as much as I thought.
Wow! What a relief. I can't wait to see my old doc! I'm so overwhelmed. What a blessing, what a blessing, what a blessing!
Just goes to show, folks, when things are looking bad, there really is light at the end of the tunnel.
