LE is legally bound to give you your meds (controlled or not) while incarcerated. Reason being: You can go into seizures, die, etc,. I was(un)fortunate enough to be detained for a day or two a year ago, and the dr who evaluated the incoming asked if I was on any meds. I said yes, Xanax, he said do you have it with you. I said no, and he(tersely) said "how do you expoect me to give it to you if you don't have it...as if it was putting HIM on the spot. I replied ' "sir I wasn't planning on being here tonight'. He looked at my charge and decided that I wouldn't be there more than a day or two so let it go.
