Good question. The only problem I can see is this- most doctors will not prescribe for dental pain, plain and simple. I've known many patients, for example, who have had serious issues with dental pain, have gone to the ER for help, (on weekends, when most dental offices are closed), and have been denied any kind of treatment and/or prescription for the pain, due to the fact that the doctors are just that- doctors, not dentists.
I agree with the other posters here- give it a shot with the dental records- if your friend is denied meds, there is no consult fee charged.
