Firefairy-all the conditions you describe are auto-immune (well, I don't know about fibro...) diseases where your own immune system starts attacking itself for whatever reason. I couldn't tell from your post whether you believe the toxins thing or not.
I have RA and my understanding of it is that my own immune system is attacking my cartilege and bones. Not that my immune system is reacting to these mysterious toxins.
I ran over a hornet's nest when I was a kid and was stung dozens of times, ever since I have had severe allergic reactions to any hymenoptera (including ants) bites/stings, requiring a 3-season carrying of an epinephrine injection.
It is not uncommon at all for adults to develop allergies. Sometimes things such as stress, illness and other changes in our body chemistry might affect how our bodies deal with things like medications, pollen, stings etc. And MANY, MANY times people incorrectly diagnose as an "allergy" something which is NOT truly an allergy. For example, throwing up and feeling cruddy after taking codeine is most likely NOT an allergy. TRUE allergic reactions involve rash, hives, and sometimes anaphlaxis--due to the over-production of histamines in our bodies at the time. Getting an all-over rash that makes you want to rip your skin off from itching so bad is an allergic reaction to codeine (which I have had--requiring an ER visit--and developed as an adult after a pretty good dose of it) whereas vomiting and feeling "weird" is probably just an adverse reaction. Not the same thing at all.
Just wanted to put my 2 cents in here as I am VERY, VERY skeptical of the whole toxins theory and, while I am not trying to dissaude anyone from believing in it, I just hope people research any alternative medical procedure before trusting in it. Many of them have documentable positive results (like acupuncture) while many of them do not (colonics.)
