What exactly do you mean by "toxin"? A bacteria? A virus? Toxin is a very vague term.

Feces doesn't accumulate as much as you might think- it certainly can happen, and is something that needs to be watched in people who are chronically constipated (especially in people on round-the-clock opioids)- but the typical person does not have to worry about that. Our bodies have handled getting rid of feces just fine for thousands of years.

You do not need to make a bowel movement many times per day to prevent this from happening- there's nothing wrong with making good, frequent bowel movements and that's why some doctors (generally PCP's, a gastro would tell you it isn't a huge deal) would tell you that, but it's not harmful if you don't.

If you did have too much accumulation, a high fiber diet or laxatives would solve the problem. You don't need a colonic. And even if you did have too much feces accumulating- why is there no proof it turns toxic? It's not that it's hard to believe, lemongrass, you make a good point, it's that we have no proof after much study on the subject.

The people who sell colonics make a fortune off people mistakenly believing in these toxins. But why haven't we found any of them? How come none of them can be identified? No one ever mentions a specific toxin. Where are they, if they are so toxic and present such a big problem- they're nowhere to be found ANYWHERE in the circulatory system, or any other organ for that matter.

If you did have reason to suspect there was some sort of "toxin" or harmful bacteria/virus/etc. down there, you should go to a doctor who can do a stool sample and prescribe the appropriate antibiotic. That is the way to treat "toxins," if it didn't work, modern medicine wouldn't rely on it as a first-line treatment.

If your liver didn't process things you ingested properly, I'm not sure why it would cause anaphylaxis? I guess it could somehow convert whatever you ingested into an antigen that might relase some sort of mast cell mediator (histamine, leukotrine, etc.), but I don't think that is very likely. Allergy/Immunology is not my thing, I only know the basics, but I don't understand what the liver would have to do with it.

When you have those allergic reactions, your body is having a full-swing inflammatory response. It would definitely feel like there are some sort of toxins, but really it is your body's own chemicals that are making you feel that way, the toxin (which is an antigen of some sort in this case) only started the reaction; the reason you feel the way you do during it is because of a huge release of histamine/leukotrine/and a bunch of other chemicals.

But regarding the liver damage, what would that have to do with it?

I'd be interested in talking about this more with you if you want, I can't help you figure out the idiopathic anaphylaxis, but if you want me to explain why the liver is not the culprit here and how anaphylaxis really works, I'd be glad to discuss it with you, PM or on here.
