Most likely the reason you feel tired Janet is probably because you're not eating enough. The average human brain weighs about 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound, but consumes 25% of the glucose that the body derives from food. In terms of relativity, that's an enormous consumption of an essential energy product for such a small organ. That's why when you miss a meal, the first organ that feels it is the brain, you can tell, you get this tired, irritated, and anxious state of mind. And the minute you consume a meal, you feel relaxed and energized with lots of mental clarity (of course, that also depends on the type of meal you had, the ideal meal is 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% of good fat). Food increases the brain's level of serotonin, which is a relaxing neurotransmittor. So what you should do is have six small meals a day this will provide a continous flow of glucose to the brain, preferably protein and complex carbohydrates that break-down slowly. Stay away from refined sugar products, which cause sudden spikes in glucose and then these are quickly eliminated from balanced with a outpouring of insulin and all of a sudden you're hungry again. Whole grains, beans, lean cuts of meats, fruits and vegetables, and beverages like black and green tea, water will go a long way in helping you derive lasting energy. Also definitely, supplement you meals with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, most importantly "EXERCISE". I can't begin to tell you how much my life when I started an exercise routine 8 years ago (which includes both cardio 45minutes 4x a week and strength training 4x a week), if you can join a martial arts class which will provide with discipline and self-confidence. It made my life complete. And most importantly you should have companionship to share your days with. All in all life "REELLY" involves balance and effort to bring about a positive "CHI" that stays with "U" whereever you go. Good Luck Janet, I'm sure you will just fine!!!
