NJ has no triplicates, nor do we have a prescription monitoring program. It's also not an ugly, industrialized state like everyone thinks (except for where I live). But don't move here, with the BONE-CHILLING FREEZING weather we've had lately, I'm reconsidering Florida and Cali.

Dear Yawkaw,
I too am in NJ, and for the life of me cannot find a doctor worth his salt. I have never had oxycontin, but been fed a steady diet of hydrocodone/oxycodone meds. They work, but I am concerned about the the quantity of acedominophen (sorry for the spelling here) I intake on a daily basis. Figure about 1,200mg plus per day. I am afraid that my liver will eventually wind up dysfunctional with all this APAP. I would switch to a non opiate, but I have tried them all with no luck. Nothing takes the pain away or allows me to work and lead a normal life. I have heard that Oxy does not treat pain as well as the hydro/Apap compound. Has anyone experienced this difference? And if there is a NJ doctor who is compassionate, unafraid, and willing to treat a legitimate pain patient, could someone private message me of where to find him/her? I do get tired of pain, for sure! Thanks for any info, and a Happy and pain free New Year to all! And PS - I love the snow.
