My husband is a supervisor at a local station...this is what happened....the postal carriers must now SCAN ALL priority, express mail...anything requiring a signature...before, if he didn't have time to attempt the delivery to your door, he would have just held it till the next day. but now they must scan an entry for every piece of mail in their case....and so, he was probably behind that day and scanned attempted not at home....to cover his a*&...i wouldn't worry about it...go to the Post office & pick it up....I wouldn't complain...cuz then your postal carrier will get in trouble & he may then be looking for a way to get even....so future deliveries could be scrutanized....it sucks...but that's what I'd do...go pick it up & don't mention it. JMO
